Beginning the academy on Friday. Have everything all together- boots shiney- shirts pressed, BDU's squeaky clean- just getting ready to be whipped! lol I'm actually quite excited for the whole deal!!!!

You lucky dog! I start the academy on February 11. I ordered my ASP and handcuffs online earlier today and will be picking up some nice duty boots here shortly. I've got plenty of time to get 'em polished and ready to go.

All of our equipment is included at our academy, except for the ammunition (which is very costly on the college student budget). That kinda sucks that you have to purchase some of your stuff, although a backup set of cuffs is usefull in some situations.

Good Luck To You Also!!! It should be fun, and yet challenging- just hang in there and don't let 'em bring ya down!

Thankfully, the academy I'll be attending supplies all of the ammunition we'll be using. I used to work for the state agency that does the academy when I was in college and they'd give me boxes of ammo for free to use on my own. That was pretty cool!

But yeah, at least it's not too much to get these few things. The department pays for everything else, so it doesn't get too costly. I picked up my ASP and handcuffs yesterday pretty cheap, so now it's just down to the boots. Those might set me back a few bucks . . .

Yea they were in my class for half of the day- I only attend the academy PT while I"m finishing my A.A.S., but I'm sure I'll get to know them and throw in a few for ya!
