Hello to all, Im a single mom of 2 boys 16 and 9 yrs old from Puerto Rico living in the Orlando Florida area ( Casselberry ),
I just graduated from Public Safety Telecommunications training, Dec 13 -2001. After finding myself trying to make ends meet I decided to pursue a career related to Law Enforcement which had always been my dream and finally I did it!.
For me the proudest moment my graduation day was when they said "Welcome to our Law Enforcement family".
I also have to say Im very proud of my two excellent boys who supported me and understood I was not going to be able to spend much time with them while I was in training. They laugh now of the time I posted a note on my door that read "Boys I am studying if this is a life or death situation dial 911" our nightly prayer was practicing "A-alpha - B-Bravo-C-Charlie".
I also made copies of my certificate signed a special thank you and sent them to all my friends and family members that helped me.

Welcome to the board Latina Del! Congrats on successfully completing your schooling. Is dispatching what you've always wanted to do? Have you found a job yet? And of course if you have any questions feel free to ask away!

Thank You Mr Jim and Lupey ;)

Jim in reply to your question if I always wanted to be a dispatcher not really when I graduated from high school I wanted to join Police Academy in Puerto Rico but couldn't. Taking dispatch training was the closest I could come to LE. I'm also interested in the future pursuing a Criminal Justice career. Currently their is a Telecommunications job opening in my City which I have applied for. Wish me luck!
