Finally Done

I finally made it. On Friday Jan 25, 2002, I graduated the Arizonal Law Enforcement Academy. Now it's 4 weeks of post academy to learn how to do it the Phoenix way and finally FTO. It was a long 17 weeks but to those going through it there is light at the end of the tunnel. Looking back on it it was one of the most challenging experiences I've been through in my 39 years. For those of you in your older years yes you can make it and for you younger pups if this old man can make it through you can too. Just keep your head up and take things one problem at a time. Was this the academy near South Mountain? And if so, to the best of your knowledge, is it any easier running in the winter (rather than the summer heat)...

Yes it is the Academy by south mountain. In fact our graduation run went all the way up to Dobbins point. In the summer they try and avoid the heat by having PC early in the morning. The recruits come in early and get done with their class day early. Running in the heat is no joke. It cost me four days in the hospital and 16 bags of IV fluid. All in all I'm glad I went through it when I did. Let me know if you have any other questions.
