We have seen a big slow down in the number of calls after 9-11. Just curious to see if anyone else out there is keeping track. Have things slowed down or are things back to the norm?

That's a good question. I'd have to get out year 2000 stats for September, October, November and December to see how they compared with 2001 stats for the same months.
Generally speaking for the last 3 years we have received less calls annually. Between 2000 and 2001 we saw a decrease of about 2000-3000 calls over all. So comparing stats between those months might be misleading at least at my agency.
I'd rather see an increase in calls because it gets really boring on mids sometimes... :(
Plus this winter in Illinois has been anything but wintry. We got our first major snowfall of the year just this past weekend and it was only 12 inches. I don't know if that helped decrease or increase calls...? We've definitely had less accidents.
I know this is an old post but I felt a need to reply. Our calls got worse. We live outside of Ft Campbell KY, We have spent our lives here hearing the booms of tanks and guns and of seeing Black Hawks flying over.....well the air patrol had gotten wayyyyyy worse after 9-11 Seems anyone heard a plane they were calling us. You tell them it was the military flying around they threw fits wanting to know why what was going on....You cant explain to hysteria life as usual *shrug*

Doesn't matter how old the post is, if you want to reply then go right ahead!! We are always happy to see more people in here!
I guess I interpreted the question differently. Calls like suspicious packages, vehicles, people all went up dramatically after 09/11. But calls in general have been in the decline for the past 2 years.
