Third time is a charm

I was officially hired today by the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff. I received a letter back in mid December that I was unofficially hired pending my release from Air Force stop/loss. Now that I have been released, it’s official. It was my third time testing ( second with this dept. ). This forum helped me better prepare for each step. Thanks to all the people who put out good advice and ideas. For those that are still in the process somewhere, keep plugging away.

I start the academy on 22 Apr. I will do my best to keep posting my progress.

i have just passed the test for contra costa sheriff and have the interview this week, how was the interview? what do they ask? also if i get through everything, i might be joining you on 4/22

If you have read any other posts on Orals, this will be pretty much like those experiences. Remember to be there 15 min early, wear a nice suit, fresh haircut, and clean shaven. If you haven't already, read the post from CO_Hopeful titled "For those needing Oral Board help" It is pretty thorough.

Have you had any interviews with other depts?

Thanks for the info, no this will be my first interview. Other Sheriff depts do their exams by invitation only. I have applied to Santa Clara dept, but i have not heard anything yet.
