Wow!!!!!!!!!!! I got the "call" today from my BI wishing me congratulations. I'm on cloud nine right now. It's official. I start the academy in about two months for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Dept. I want to thank all those who helped along the way. I really got some great info from others on this board. I hope I can continue to offer my advice to those still in the job hunting process. I will keep updating my progress and again, thank you for all your help. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, I've been following your post for quite awhile now and I am glad that you have finally made it. Santa Cruz Sheriff's Dept. is definitely a good place to work. Keep us posted on your future endeavors. BTW, what academy does the Sheriff's Dept. use. Good luck & take care.

Hey guys, To answer your questions, the academy is about six months long. As far as which one they use, all I know is that we will be at Gavilan College in Gilroy. The academy will host multiple agencies. They go there sometimes and also Evergreen college in San Jose. I think it's the South Bay Regional Training Academy. Not positive however. I'll keep everybody posted. Thanks for the responses!!!!

Congrats! Just dont to anything stupid before u get in to mess it up.... I have seen people do that and it sucks!

Must be an awesome feeling! You definately have something to be proud of. Those 6 months are going to fly by, so relax and enjoy 'em...
