Chemical Security Inspectors for DHS
Recently a job was announced on USAJOBS for an 1801 position as a Chemical Security Inspector with DHS. Does anybody know if these positions are shared responsibilities with the FPS inspectors?? Reading other posts in the Federal forum it appears that FPS Inspectors are currently doing this work.

Can't offer anything regarding your question but I also saw the postings and they look like interesting jobs. They seem to want very specific job experience that many might not have. I'm looking into it too. Lets see what happens

thx Dave
This isn't a popular subject and anything you find out on these jobs would be helpful. I did a google search and found a powerpoint presentation by DHS for securing the chemical sector. It appears from the inspector training section of the power point that knowledge in process safety management (PSM) for chemical plant operations, HAZMAT training and other OSHA training in this area will be helpful. The other qualified people would be chemical engineers.
I'm kinda hoping and praying that my OSHA and FDA work experiences help me out as I have been inspecting chemical facilities from both consumer safety and employee safety angles for the past 6 years.
Anyways, let me know what you hear. The previous job announcement (February/March)for these positions never materialized into anything and the fax numbers, phone numbers and email addresses provided never worked.
