Thread: NYPD Deferment

I have NYPD "orientation" this coming Saturday @ the academy. I plan on going through the BI process, however would like to defer to the July academy. It would however be nice to get everything I can completed now. I know the Med and JST have to be redone but would everything else be alright? Would they let me defer if I let them know before hand?

NYPD has two classes a year: January and July. If they call and you say no, you do not get put on the next class. You are removed from the process.

You can then go and ask for reinstatement, re-do your medical and partial background and wait and see if approved. If you are, you will be invited to the January class.
