I haven't gotten any results yet, but have been told that they are expecting the results around the middle of this month. Hopefully we will hear soon. What departments have sent results out already?

Nice. You do alright? I think the results for the state agenciesare taking a bit longer, for the sole fact that they are for statewide depts with a larger number of applicants.

I scored pretty good. Should be in the first group of people to get called for the PAT. Rochester also has their list up. I believe every agency has their list by now since people that cross-file have to be placed on every list they applied to. When I took the State Parks exam, the results came around this time, but the PAT wasn't till Sept/Oct.

I'm waiting for results from Cohoes and Rensselaer County. If anyone else is waiting for these departments please post when you get them.

Come to think of it, I believe that it was March when I got my results for my current agency and Rensselaer County back when I got hired. I hope that you get your results for Cohoes soon because I know that they're looking to hire now and have made some offers that were declined. I know we've talked about my agency before, but I wish you had applied here. We've got spots that we can't fill. To say that morale is in the crapper would be a gross understatement.

I also took the test Dec 2, for NYSPP. I haven't heard back. I'm in school right now till December anyway. If they call me back, and I'm still in school what happens, can I defer the interview? or take interview and defer academy? Anybody know?

I doubt you can defer the NYSPP interview or academy. The way they have been doing things is giving the test once a year and hiring once of the exam.

Is that the standard way things run in most police examinations? Are you sure of this info? I thought that they(NYS) maintain lists, and that they can come back to an individual who has stated that he can't take the job at that point in time. I'm pretty sure I did well on the exam, but school takes precedence over a potential job.

I'm not 100% sure. You could always contact a recruiter from the NYSPP and ask them or contact NYS civil service. I took their test in 2002 and it was only good for 1 hiring off of it. They have been giving the exam once a year for the last couple of years. How long the list is kept depends on a number of things. It can be good for 1 year or be extended to 4 years. Some agencies in NY have continous recruiment which interfiles test results with past lists. NYSPP I don't believe do this.
