Thread: Farnsworth D-15 or Latern Tests

Hey all,

I'm currently processing for a department in Maryland. I took the physical and failed the Ishihara color vision test, but was told that if I get tested by an outside doctor on one of the Farnsworth tests, I could submit that test in lieu of the Ishihara test.

My question is, does anyone know of any doctors/optometrists/ophthalmologists in the Washington, DC area that perform any of the Farnsworth tests? I've been calling around like crazy but haven't been able to locate anyone.

While I am not personally familiar with DC I would check with Vets. Admin. or one of the DOD facilities. Maybe also look for a USNR medical detachment unit. It is fairly common for pilots, sailors, and others to be tested with the Farnsworth methods. Or at least it used to be.
