NYPD Oral psych
I just did a search on this board about this topic and my question was not answered so apologize if this seems redundant. But my investigator told me I was under review for my Oral psych. She told me that it could change and that she would look into it. She tried to reassure me by telling me I was qualified and that how the NYPD psych tests aren't fair. Nonetheless, has anyone here been under review then passed? Or am I looking an a tough uphill battle by getting this to change? I never was rattled during the interview but I guess I didn't draw a pretty enough tree

I have never seen a psychologist before, so I can't get notes from another doctor to bail me out like your friend. She asked me alot about my sleep, and how I act when I don't get any sleep. Also, how every so often I can't sleep because of a test or something I may be worried about. But come on who sleeps soundly everynight? At of all the psychologists there I got the oldest one, all the other ones looked very young and nice. I Know I didn't get a fair shake and this lady is going to deny me after getting so far.Especially that I spent a lot of my own money to travel back and forth from Michigan to NYC for this.
My investigator said she thought I was definitely qualified for the job. I have done a lot of things to try to prepare for this and I fear I am going to fall short. But everyone around me says remain positive, So I will do just that.Last edited by Yanks23; 10-27-2004 at 22:17.

One of the guys in my company keeps going back to psych services because of conflicts in his answers from other departments' psych tests. He did make the class and he has been back there at least 3 times.
Your investigation goes on beyond the academy from what I'm told.

Your investigation continues until you are off probation, which is usually the two year mark. You will have to return to APD at that time to sign off on your investigation.
As for review on your oral psych, I have never met anyone who had that happen.
