Community Supervision Officer self Defense?
In Washington, DC they have a Federal position in the DC Courts called the Community Supervision Officer. They deal with the folks who are out on probation. My question is since they are unarmed, what else besides sharp words words, do they have to defend themselves. I think they get 7 weeks of training from somewhere (maybe FLETC, or perhaps in house) would that include bare knuckle self defense or OC. I only ask because previous searches have surfaced very little information on the job as it pertains to Community Supervision officers.

CSO in DC
You are right, they don't have any weapons to defend themselves. If they go out to the field they are accompany by Metropolitan Police. Their training is in house. Two of my sorority sisters worked for that agency and the agency has its pros and its cons... The job is under a law enforcement payment scale but they are not allowed to carry weapons...
Hope this helps...
