Thread: Massachusetts Sheriff Offices

Can someone explain, how you get on with the county sheriffs in MA?
Is ther an exam, interview, academy? DO they accept laterals?
Pay, benifits and reputations?

I thinks its mainly politricks as Sheriffs are appointed. I have known of people contributing to a Sheriffs campaign and lo and behold, they get appointed. I know Suff. county might be hiring correctional deputies now and thats an actual process but for the LE jobs, I think its very very political.

Id look for the civil service exams as they go by exam scores and dont even know your background until the end.
