For anyone that took it already, was everyone taking the test wearing a suit?

Can't attest to current testing cycles, but when I took the test I was not wearing a suit, just dress slacks and a button down shirt with dress shoes. There will be a range of attire, from jeans and t-shirts to suits. Can't go wrong with a suit, but its unlikely the OPM administrator giving the test will have anything to do with ATF. I would recommend business casual or better.

There were a about 1/4 in suits, 1/2 in slacks and a shirt (most with ties), slightly less than 1/4 in street clothes, and 1 or 2 who looked like they just woke up and threw on some pretty ratty clothes.
While I don't think anyone was paying attention, I wore a suit, and I would think you would want to be in the first two categories. Or at least not the last one.
There were more women at my test than I would have expected, which I know was a topic of discussion in... some thread. About how many women apply. The people who were involved in that discussion won't see it, but I wanted to point it out.
To avoid an issue we had that took some time: Bring your pencils, ID, and invitation. All three of those took out time. Also, show up on time.
And that is all I'll have to say until I get my results or date for the interview.

In short, no idea. With the compressed timeline they're trying to keep you guys on, I would think email. I got my results via snail mail, but that was a few years ago.

Got any email saying:
"Thank you for your interest in the Criminal Investigator Position with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. According to the hiring procedures for this position, disabled and highly qualified veterans must receive consideration before other applicants. The number of applications from these groups of veterans more than surpassed the number of positions expected to be filled.
At this time, your application is not within reach for consideration for this position.* In the event that more applicants are needed for consideration, you will be notified of your status. Thank you again for your interest and time."

Received mine on the same day as well. Pretty much knew this was going to happen. Same crap, different day.

A little more intel from up the food chain for those of you remaining in the process...
Email that went out today said there are 1,066 applicants to be screened. Once you are notified of your screening, the PT test will occur first. If you pass, your writing exercise and interview will be scheduled for a later date. You are eliminated at the point where you fail an exercise. So, if you pass the PT test, but then fail the writing exercise, you won't ever see an interview. Field divisions have been notified of how many applicants they will have to screen (with DC being the high water mark of 124).
So, if we extrapolate from there, that means about half the applicants will get whacked at the exam. To me this also indicates that we have graded the exams, but as far as I know we haven't sent out results yet. No idea when that will happen, but its got to be soon if we have any hope of keeping the proposed timeline. Take all of that for what its worth. Best of luck to those of you remaining.

Wow 1,066 down to 24. That's incredible.
Book 'em Dan-o.
