Do you think the poly is selective or he didn't do it because he applied before it was implemented?
He was probably the last wave of people that it wasn't mandatory for. It should be mandatory from now on.

My brother recently finished the CBP academy and had been at work at his poet in San Pedro California or somewhere in that area for about a month now. Guess its just a waiting game.
If you want to speed up your chances of getting a TO and you don't mind living in the SWB for about 5 to 7 years I recommend sending an email to MHC requesting the change.

Got my TO today. I havnt sent in the required documents yet. Just wondering if there is a general estimation out there for when the 1st fitness test may be. Ive applied to the SW (not sure if it matters). Thanks for all the help.
Congrats on the TO!! My PFT1 was completed almost exactly one month after I received my TO.

    7-25-12 Took Test
    8-1-12 Received NOR
    8-7-12 Sent in necessary paperwork
    8-14-12 Received Tentative Selection

Now, do I wait for them to call and get the process going? Because what I got from the email was a list of what's to come, but no asking for paperwork yet. They just told me to have an updated email address and phone number for when they need to contact me. Did I read that right or am I missing something?
You're very welcome. I'm happy to be able to help my fellow future CBPOs in this long and tedious process. Two days from now will mark my 1 year anniversary since applying online. Texas, it looks to me as if your process is turning out to be blazing fast. If there are no attachments in the email they sent you then I would just wait for the next email. You should be receiving one shortly.

I just came back from my VBT...but I did not take the SI. Did I fail my VBT?
I took it in San Diego and there was an applicant before me who also didn't do the SI as well and 2 others waiting to take the VBT after me.
At least I'm hoping...but could it be because they had scheduled VBTs one right after the other I didn't take my SI at that time?

btw very helpful thread as already stated.

Hows everyone doing? Im new to these forums, but I wanted to get some opinions on the hiring process. I have a B.A. in criminal justice, Im fluent in spanish and I recently graduated a police academy. It all sounds good but when I took the test for CBPO, I wasn't feeling to well and I ended up scoring a 77. I was wondering if that score is going to hurt my chances for getting a TO. What do you guys think?

Alright guys, I just finished my e-QIP questionnaire, and I sent in my fingerprint cards yesterday, is there anything else I have to send in? I think that's it, but I could always use a second thought!

I think 5 months at Brunswick, GA. 1 more month for Spanish if you're going to SW border and you don't know how to speak Spanish.

Hi everyone. I am new to this Forum but I have been following this thread for the past couple months since deciding to take the CBPO written exam. I just recieved my NOR and passed with an 88 w/o Veteran Preference and on the NOR it had Vacancy ID. I have also been asked to submit my resume and supporting documents for consideration of the position. Is this what is considered a TO or am I still waiting on that after I submit these documents? I was kind of shocked to see the email so quickly since I took the test on 8/24/12 and recieved the NOR on 9/5/12.

If it matters I applied for a postion in the SW.

Nevermind I just answered my own question. I got confused by the Vacancy ID on the NOR. Does anyone know what that is for?

    Alex-
Yea that means everything is going good, as long as the emails don't stop! Lol I just did my medical examination/first fitness test on Monday, not too bad, but not too easy either, at least as far as the step test! Good luck!
