DEA Intell Research
According to the job posting for DEA "Intell Research Spec." it states you can be placed worldwide. Is this the reality, or are most jobs in the U.S.? Can one stay in the U.S if they wish?
Thanks!

Overseas tours are voluntary. There are DEA Analysts posted at most major Embassy cities overseas. Their number depends on the office size/workload.

When I inquired about the Intel Research Specialist career about a year ago (when I originally applied to the DEA for the SA career) I was told by the Recruiter that they had no budget to hire anyone as a Intel Research Spec. and that I should just stick to the DEA Special Agent application. She told me my chances of getting into DEA were greatest as a SA because of the lack of budget for the other careers within DEA.
Has DEA reopened the recruiting for the Intel Research Specialist career? Thanks.

I have no idea if they are actively recruiting for "Intell?" The DEA website states they are always looking, but I know that is not always the case.

Makes sense that they probably don't hire too many Intel Specialists. I've met a couple DEA Intel guys and they were both full time National Guard and the DEA Intel spot was their job for the guard. Don't ask me all the details but that's what they told me.
