Thread: Deo

Can anyone tell me how the USMS hires their DEO. Being this is a different series than the Deputy Marshal could someone begin their career as a DEO then work themselves into something different wiith the USMS?

I have noticed while searching on USAJOBS, depending on the position posted it will read:

Stautus/Ferderal Civil Service Employees, does this mean this job is opened to any Federal Employee?

Each District hires their own DEO's based on their needs -- it's not centralized out of headquarters like for deputies. There is an interim memo ordering districts to NOT HIRE DEO's right now due to budget issues. Yes, you can move up to a Deputy from a DEO.
Several deputies in my office were DEO's...
