Thanks again for everyone's support and kind words. This forum, and the people who make it up, have become like an invisible second family to me. I will continue my pursuit, with my chin up!

Well you know the old saying... We can smell our own, and misery loves company. I think the reason this board is so popular and such a great resource (aside from good intel and information not normally available through other channels) is the fact that it's one of the few places you can go where people actually UNDERSTAND what you're going through. Someone outside the loop who isn't trying to break into law enforcement probably can't grasp "what the big deal is".

The first thin letter you get is actually exciting... You don't know it's a bad thing until *AFTER* you open it. Then it's the big let-down. Of course the 2nd and 3rd thin letter is also a mixed bag of emotions, because your brain hasn't quite grasped the fact that good news does not come in such a small package. I would say after my 3rd thin letter I learned what to expect when I saw the same type in my mailbox.
So when the 4th and 5th letters came, I just sighed, ripped them open and threw them on the pile. It's nice to have a community here that can feel your pain and happiness. When I hear of a guy/gal getting the call for a PD, S/O, State Agency, or a FLETC, Quantico, or Postal Academy date I get almost as excited for them for a split second. Where others look at you as if you're mad when you keep your face pushed to the front window of your house and let out a pathetic squeak every time you see a FedEx truck pass by on your street, we are there for you...

By the same token, anytime I get something other than a thin envelope, I get SUPER excited, because it's something outside the routine.

Sorry to hear this cpw, but it doesn't sound like it will get you down. Keep at it!

Impresive. Rejection is the foundation for success. You'll do fine. Just keep plugging
away.
