ICE S/A Tentative Offer...

Just received my tentative offer from ICE for a position as a Special Agent. I had originally applied under the old Customs bubble sheet and was one of the first to take the new and improved DHS Special Agent exam instead of the TEA. So to all of you already on the ready list, or to those who are waiting on the BI's to finish, this is probably a good sign for you as well. I'm guessing and only guessing that if they are sending out TO's, they are anticipating clearing the pipeline. I am also a current DHS/CBP employee, so that may help. I was originally told my med/BI would be waived, but things change. Anyway, I'm very happy I got the TO, but I'm not getting as excited as I would have been when I first applied in 2003.

Just received my TO in the mail also. A recruiter contacted me earlier in the day to tell me that the selection letter had been mailed on 5/6, and to watch for it in the mail.

I just called TCHC and was told that my TO and paperwork were sent out on 5/6 as well. I tested in 1/04 and interviewed in 4/04. I guess everyone who passed the new test and SI's does not need to reapply. It's still a long waiting game from here but this was a big obstacle to get through. Good luck to everyone

I got mine as well and already sent it back. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I only hope it takes a little less than 6 months I do not want to experience anymore Detroit winters.LOL

It looks like the ICE freeze is finally lifting. I just received a TO this last week. I also applied with the bubble sheet under legacy customs, and had forgotten I was in their hiring process. I've since been hired elsewhere, so I'll clear the way for someone else to get hired by getting my name off the hiring list at TCHC. Good luck to everyone in the process!

26FEB04 received passing written test results
20APR04 subject interview/panel interview/writing sample
07JUN04 received passing results from interview

I know I have not posted anything lately, but I also have received a TO from ICE as of May 9th, along with a Pre-Employment packet. It was sent back to them as fast as I received it. It seems as if maybe the anticipation maybe coming near the end for some, especially those of you who are cleared and waiting for a final offer. Since ICE is going to be accepting 1000 Apps at the begining of June, that tells me that there possibly might not be enough people in the pipeline, (People that they want) to fill the number of vacancies they anticipating to have this year and fiscal year 2006! For all of those people that are waiting, this could be good news! My process is as follows.

Dates
June 2003- Submitted Bubble sheet
Jan. 2004- Written Exam
Feb. 2004- Notice of Passing Written Exam
April 2004- Structured Interview
June 2004- Notice of Passing Structured Interview
May 2005- TO, along with Pre-Employment Packet.

My timeline is identical to yours, at least there seems to be some kind of structure within the hiring process.

Can anyonyone that has received their TO send your background and experience. What I should ask, is there anyone of you guys/gals that hasn't finished your degree?
