    Phase II interview examples

I've been following a lot of advice that I've found here in this forum with regards to preparing for Phase II. One thing I have done is created a spreadsheet with the 9 categories listed across the top, and underneath I am listing out examples using the START format. I have decided that I would like at least 2 examples for each category.

For all you Phase II success stories out there, is it better to have all unique examples? Would it look bad to use the same example more than once? Now, I know its allowed as far as the interview goes, but would it look better to come up with all different?

Also, during the interview, when I'm presented with a question and must talk about one of my examples, am I limited to only one? Or, can I talk about more than one situation? AND, if that's okay, can I then also go back to a question later after I've already answered it. Say I've got 15 minutes left at the end, could I talk about additional situations, or is it pretty much once I've closed on a question, that topic and (possibly even example?) is gone for good?

    Thanks,

    GX,

As I think I said in your other post I tried to come up with a different situation for each of the 9 points that were discussed in the booklets. I also went with my wife to a Borders Book store and we looked through a bunch of Job Interview Books. We specifically looked for questions from the Job Interview Books that matched the 9 points. You might want to try that route

    gxstanke,

It's nice if you have different example for each question. It won't hurt you if you use the same example twice. However, you must use the same example in a different aspect.

Use only one example for each question and elaborate on it. Use the example you believe is the strongest and bring the most out of you.

Once you finish answering the question that is it. You may not go back and continue to talk about it. You can only go back to the question you skipped. I was stuck on one of the questions. I started saying a few words and I realized I couldn't answer it. I asked if I could skip it and the answer was yes. I later came back to it and answer it.

    Hope this helps.

Unless it changed from September when I did Phase II, you can go back and add to a question if you have time remaining at the end of your session.

Oh really? I didn't know that. I was never told I can go back and add to the question. Sorry if I mislead anyone.

Never told we could go back and add to a question. Told we could skip a question and come back to it in the end.

Was advised that it is preferable to use different examples.
