A secret service question and a PG police question

Like many folks I am in the hiring process for several agencies, but I have a question about 2 of them. My secret service app has been put on hold until they (powers that be) meet and decide if I can go get my medical. This was back in March should I be calling them or should I just leave them be and wait for my call? Another one of my applications is in for PG county police. After the test we were told to fill out our blue books and we would be getting a call in 2 or 3 weeks. That time has passed and I called them. I was told that they would contact me, but it has been 5 weeks since then... Whats going on?

I don't think your crossing the line by checking in 5 weeks later. It is good to be persistant.....just don't cross into the annoying zone by calling every week or every other week.

    Good Luck.

This isn't the first time, and probably won't be the last, but I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with SSP8541 on this. During the times that I've applied with various agencies, the only time I've called or touched base with the agency was to add new information or when I've been requested by them to do so. With that said, I don't see anything wrong with contacting them for the reasons you've specified, especially if it's been over a month since you've heard anything.

    Reach out and touch someone.

Hey KippRC. I took the physical and written with PG County back in Sept. 04.
Got the Blue Book and was told, just like you were, to fill it out right away because you will get a phone call soon. To make a long story short I finally got a call from a BI in PG yesterday. Till this point i was calling the applicant investigation group about once a month to check in. The good news is it looks like they are hiring for an August class. Good luck with the PG process.

I hope I don't have to sit tight for that long. As much as I hear how badly the FOP there wants more officers there, I would like to think they would like to keep the ball rolling.

From what I heard is that the app investigative group is overloaded right now with applicants. I do know that they are still planning on hiriing 200 this year which means they better move a little faster if they want to hire 200. Two of my friends took the test in october and still havent gotten a call yet which is pretty frustrating. Well good luck with the process and hopefully they will speed it up a little.
