    Tuition assistance as an 1811?

Is there tuition assistance in FLE? After getting on as an 1811 and you want to complete a JD, Phd, or take professional development courses in computers or language, will the FBI, DEA, USSS etc... give you tuition assistance, days off, or accomadating tours etc... Any information as always is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the agency. Some may have tuition assistance available if it's related to your job in some way, but even those that will help are dependent on budget availability because it is often tied into the local office's training budget rather than a specific tuitition assistance program. Most supervisors will work with you, esp. if you are taking evening classes, and as an 1811 you have a good deal of freedom in setting your own schedule much of the time as long as your cases get worked. Everything is agency and office specific though.

Thank you for the fast reply. I figured it may be handled on a case by case basis at the FO. I was curious if I missed something on OPM website regarding education opportunites. For example, I know some state and city Police and hospital employees sometimes get half off tuition for management, leadership, computer courses at state and city colleges/universities.
