USPS Hiring freeze?

I was just reading on Govexe.com that USPS has called for a hiring freeze. I guess it is safe to assume that the 08-138 announcement will not be filled? Or is the OIG a separate entity. I just want to know if I should not waste my time waiting for a response to my application for the OIG position.

Can't say for sure but as far as I know the USPS-OIG is moving foward with interviews...

The OIG is not affected by the hiring freeze. USPS and USPIS are not currently hiring, the OIG is......:cool::2gun:

OIG are financially separate from the USPS to ensure objectivity and credibility in their investigations.
