    Nebraska State Patrol Question

While driving a little too quickly through Nebraska I was given a written warning, for my speed and not having a current copy of my insurance...(of course my insurance is current, but I didn't have the new card-I think my movers packed it- that said, I signed a warning that I would have it corrected, my question:

There is no promise to appear, no date, no fees attached, etc.

is there a fee associated with correction in CA its 10 bucks previous broken tail light...

if there is no promise to appear, when is this due

and if there is no promise to appear is it an honor thing, or do these things go to FTA???

It would appear that this form is not an infraction form at all, rather a document designed to docment written warninngs. A contact card for lack of a better term.

I was impressed by his professionalism, and appreciated the warning as I was well within ticketable speed. I would simply like to know more about this document...

    PS

I have never had such a hard time keeping the speed down as I have in that state and I have driven across texas before. Nicely maintained roads, wide open shoulders, traffic that moves to the right....oh man it was tough,

Send me 20 bucks and I will take care of it for ya.

NE has warning tickets and also what they call "Fix-it-Tickets". The Fix-it-Tickets are issued when you have a tail light out, etc. It allows you X number of days to get the infraction fixed, have it inspected by a law enforcement officer, who will sign the ticket signifying the infraction has been taken care of, and then the fix-it-ticket has to be mailed in to the address on the back.

It sounds like you received a warning ticket, which requires nothing on your part. Just follow instructions on the citation, if there are any.

If the fix-it-ticket is not returned in the X number of days allowed, then a regular citation is mailed to the offender.

By the way, No Proof of Insurance carries a $100.00 fine, plus court costs, in NE.

in CA its bit steeper then that, that is if the defendant does not actually have insurance while operating,,
so what begs the question....what is the time frame as it is not specified on the warning slip.

I think you recieved a "Warning Ticket", which doesn't require any action on your part. If it has “Warning” written across the front of it, it’s just a warning.
