Wisconsin State Patrol
Hello,
Does anyone know if when you're appointed to the Wisconsin State Patrol academy if you're appointed as a trooper or as an inspector? On their website it appears that you apply for both positions and the determination of which the cadet will be is determined at a later date. Is that true? Or do you apply for the positions seperately?
Any insight would be helpful...thank you!

Placement
They will place you wherever they have vacancies.
Good luck!

if i'm not mistaken a certain percentage of top academy graduates get to pick the county and inspector/trooper as vacancies allow, and after current troopers get a crack at the vacant positions/locations. i'd hate to give bad info, but i think it is a very small top percentage.

Thanks, Jay!
I'm not sure I'd be willing to apply if I didn't know if I'd be appointed as a Trooper until after I graduate from the academy.

Snakedoctor,
Welcome to the forum. However, before you continue to post, please take a moment to read the Board Rules. Specifically the one about posting to old threads.
Thanks,
